Working Together as a Family

 Here is the newest Rocky Mountain Twist helper. Our son Dylan is out pressure washing and earning some extra cash to add to his savings. He really got a kick out pf pressure washing and also helping mark some burl stumps to get them ready to be leveled and made into tables. Dylan is quite the enthusiastic helper.

There are times that projects get a bit backed up and we end up working through the weekend, however we do realize how important it is to take some time to charge the batteries and spend time together as a family.

On a perfect Monday we decided to go fishing and take the day and give it to ourselves. We saw moose, elk and caught a few fish, it was a much needed break..

Claro Walnut Slab Head board & Floating Californis King Bed - COMPLETED

The claro walnut bed that we have been working on over the past several months is completed. It has been a labor of love and a large learning experience. It is one of those projects that you are glad to see leave the shop and on to its new home, and yet one that you hate to see go.

This is the first bed that we have made, one which are proud of and hope we get the opportunity to build another one and share the experience with new clients.

The headboard measures 12' x 4' and stands almost 5' tall. Each built in "floating" side tables are 20" x 20" and approximately 9" deep. Each bed side table has a sliding drawer and behind each drawer there will be an electrical outlet sou that phones, clocks or other electronics with a small cord can be plugged in and the electrical is hidden. Also on the side of the drawer facing the bed there will an electrical switch built in so that lamps or sconces can be turned on and off.

It is made for a California King mattress, the frame is made 1.5" wider on the sides and foot so that blankets can be tucked in. The mattress will have 2.5" slope......
