When it is just two of us working in the shop it gets difficult to build inventory and work on custom orders at the same time. Handmade juniper products take time and most large projects take over 50 hours to complete and this does not include finding and harvesting the juniper as well as pressure washing and getting it ready for use.
We have been going back and forth on how to build inventory plus put together custom orders and it all seems like too much to get going at one time. Our goal is to get a listing in Safari Club International Magazine for our taxidermy pedestals, but in order to do that we need to have products to show potential clients. Just the other day we had a light bulb moment....... When we are putting together ideas for customers, we pick out several pieces for them to choose from, photoshop a rough idea of what the completed project will look like and then they choose the one that they like best. We do this over and over again. Well instead of just emailing out the custom ideas, we are starting to add the taxidermy pedestal ideas to our website, the potential client can see ideas that we have put together and be able to choose from them..... This is going to save us hours of emailing and showing the same project over and over again in an email.
